Safety Instruction Video project (Jun-Aug, 2012)
This was a subtitle translation project offered by an agency in USA. One of the leading companies in the mining field was preparing their English safety instruction video, which was to be translated into Tok Pisin.

Public Relations (Sep 2012)
One of the governments was planning to release an article about their efforts to provide medical, financial and educational aid for people in Papua New Guinea. Tok Pisin translation was requested for them to read and get to know where and how the aid came from.

Local Culture in Papua New Guinea (Oct 2013)
An agency located in the United Kingdom provided an audio file that contains an interview program to introduce a local dance called "singsing". The job was required to transcribe the interview and translate it into English. The challenge of this task was to discern how people in this particular area speak Tok Pisin with their unique accent.

Employee Survey (Dec 2013)
An agency in Hawaii offered a Tok Pisin translation job related to an employee survey that was planned to administrate by one of the major drilling companies. The survey is about how their employees view their work environment, conditions, etc.. The job requires a certain level of knowledge about how workers might view them.

Forestry (Dec 2013)
An agency in Singapore requested a translation job of the material of logging industry. The document explained about legality in connection with logging itself, export and import of logs. A lot of research had to be made to understand the source material.

Labor administration (Feb 2014)
People in Papua New Guinea have a chance to work abroad through a governmental arrangement. The job was required to translate into Tok Pisin the material that outlined how to apply for the job, all aspects of the working and living arrangements in that foreign land. This job required knowledge about how to express daily matters in Tok Pisin.

Agiriculture/Fishery (Apr 2014)
A Malaysian agency offered a Tok Pisin translation of a video script that contained an interview with a person explaining how to develop a sustainable fishing method despite climate change that has been taking place for the recent years. As many Tok Pisin translation jobs do, this job also needed discernment as to which English word should be translated and which one should be transliterated.

It was interesting to know someone who was enthusiastic about getting knowledge about the unique cultures around the world, like the one of Papua New Guinea.

Medical Service Campaign (Jul 2015)
A campaign of the medical service regarding family planning was conducted in Papua New Guinea. An agency located in the UK provided a video that showed interviews and activities in connection with this campaign. Since local people that involved the interviews were from Highlands region, the transcription job required understanding of how they spoke Tok Pisin. The transcribed script was translated into English.

Legal Agreement Document (Apr 2016)
This is a job to translate a document of legal agreement in connection with the land where the Memorial is situated. This task reminded me of strong attachment that local people had to their lands, and that helped me to keep in mind the importance of the accurate rendering of this document.

Labor Affairs (Jun to Dec 2016)
This job was related to governmental arrangements to send local workers to another country as seasonal workers. The knowledge about a wide scope of the living of PNG people was of great help for this project.

Disaster Preparedness Manual (Nov 2016)
Since there are so many natural disasters that have been occurring for recent years, many governments provide evacuation manuals for their people. One of the local level governments prepared such for PNG people living in their area.

Online Survery (Apr 2017)
Online surveys are being used in many areas. This task required a bit of ability to see how the survey material would look like on the screen, which can help determine what target word is the most appropriate in the context.

Online Dictionary (April 2018)
I engaged in a big project of building online dictionary of Tok Pisin. Since it involves some tasks to created web pages, knowledge of some fundamental functions of websites such as cookies and of privacy policy was needed.
